Nevada's homeowners market
Carriers look closely at roof age and type, home age, and the condition of the electrical, plumbing, and cooling systems on every Nevada home. In southern Nevada, extreme heat is hard on roofs and AC systems, and many homes have pools and HOAs. In northern Nevada, cold winters, snow load, and wildfire along the Sierra front shape what carriers ask about. We also cover condos, rental properties, renters, and high-value homes.
Wildfire, flash floods, and earthquake
Wildfire is a growing concern in Reno, Carson City, the Carson Valley, and the Tahoe Basin, where defensible space and fire-rated roofs can improve your options. In the south, summer monsoon storms can send flash floods through washes and streets. Nevada is also one of the most seismically active states in the country. A standard homeowners policy does not cover flood or earthquake, so we quote both separately. NFIP flood coverage typically has a 30-day waiting period, so it needs to be in place well before storm season.
Auto, boat, farm, and business coverage
