Hail and wind drive a large share of claims, so carriers look closely at roof age and material on every South Dakota home, and many policies carry a separate wind and hail deductible. We also cover condos, rental properties, renters, and high-value homes.
Hail, blizzards, and flooding
Summer storms bring hail and tornadoes, and winter brings blizzards, ice, and frozen pipes. Spring snowmelt and heavy rain can flood homes along the Big Sioux and James Rivers. A standard homeowners policy does not cover flood, so we quote it separately. We also write farm and ranch insurance for agricultural properties.
Auto, boat, and business coverage
South Dakota requires auto liability limits of at least $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident, and $25,000 for property damage, plus uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. We round out your protection with auto, boat, and umbrella coverage. For business owners, we also write business insurance, from business owners policies to commercial property, along with contractors insurance and trucking.
